I realize now why folks go out and get another dog when one passes; there is a huge void since so much of my life was structured around taking care of her. But, having a pet has been difficult with my lifestyle–traveling, no spouse to help out, etc. so I’m committed to not giving in to the temptation to get another animal until my circumstances are better for the pet. I’ve always had animals so I’m sure I’ll have more down the line. It’s great to have a pet so I say go for it if you have the time, space and inclination for it!

Agnes, so sorry to hear about Jasmine. My wife and I are thinking of getting a dog for the first time in either of our lives. Do you think you’ll get another one (eventually)?
