Obama/Clinton Debate in Austin

Barack Obama LogoDid everyone see this debate last night? It was on CNN and being here in Austin, it was top news for the day, but afterwards I had this sinking feeling that this amazing debate wasn’t seen across the country. I wish it had been on network television. But, in any case, it was my first moment of sitting down and really listening to both of these candidates, without all the hype, and blew Clinton out of the water, in my opinion. I’ve always said she is a Republican in a Democrat suit, because she thinks of in the same way as the conservatives. Everything has to be mired in swapping favors, diplomatic envoys, political advisors.

It was clear that both of them could put McCain, or whoever the Republicans decide to throw under this bus, to shame on the last 8 years in the presidential race, but is convincing that he is done with all the bullshit. I don’t know if even his energy could drop into the presidency and not get mired in the legacy of that institution, but I’m sure willing to give him a shot. I’m registered in Texas and I’ll be voting in the primary for , and hope for the best.

  1. Pretty much everyone I know in my area (yes, all 3 of them :) , watched the debate fully or partially. All of them thought Obama did better than Clinton.

  2. Consider this a dissenting voice. These things rarely have anyone blowing anyone out of the water, and last night was no exception.

  3. If you were keeping score debate-wise, I’d call it even. And maybe what you think are right contributing ingredients for a president is different from what I think, but if you aren’t blown out the water by Barack Obama, then you aren’t really listening. He is a rare kind of human being.
