New Blog Design
If you are reading this in a feed reader, you can’t see all the work I’ve been doing on my blog! I’d like to invite you to stop by as I’ve implemented an exciting new theme “WP Magazine” (or at least I think so!). It was designed by Michael Pollock of Solostream, and it has a lot of cool details. Michael hasn’t had a chance to put together much documentation, so I’ve done many small mods to make it look the way I want but it’s still a bit wonky. I’ve also implemented a bunch of new plug-ins to improve the site. Though they are too many to mention now, my thanks goes out to all the open source developers who make this site and so many others “go.” I guess only folks who do this type of thing understand how easy it is to blow whole days on all this, which is what happened to me. I hope you like it; still some small tweaks to come, but let me know what you think. Happy New Year!

Hi Agnes,
I like the background and layout a lot. I would change the black/gray/red color scheme for the drop-downs and links though … a bit hard to read. I set up a wp blog once, so I know how whole days and weeks can disappear in the process :).

Agnes, congratulations on the snazzy new template. I’d agree with Francis about the link and dropdown menu colours, though. Dark text on a dark background is hard on the eyes.

Wow, I love the new look. Gives you a much more professional “magazine” feel. It’s really, really nice.
And I QUITE understand the troubles and traumas of developing a new look, which is why I also post about what I’ve done new to Bad Lit when I make changes. It always seems so easy at the get go, but then the tiny details and tweaks you didn’t think of beforehand keep piling up, which take away from your actually blogging/writing time.
But you’ve done a fantastic job here. Best of luck to you in 2008!

Your pants, they are fancy!

Thank you! I’m glad you like it, and I’ll see about those colors. Lots to do in the New Year!

The design looks great. I love how designers are pushing the envelope with Wordpress to really make it work as a content management system. Nice job.
