NY77: Plato’s Retreat

Ok, I’m late on this. Someone sent me an email earlier in the month asking me to check out VH1 Rock Docs clips for NY77: The Coolest Year in Hell, executive produced by indie doc royalty Nanette Burstein (The Kid Stays in the Picture). I don’t think VH1 needs advertising help from me and I certainly don’t want to be a mouthpiece for corporate media if I ain’t gettin’ paid for it. So, I didn’t bother to look at the clips until this weekend, and well, all I can say is WoW! This isn’t the kind of material you see very often. Very courageous for both the filmmakers involved and VH1. Maybe you can catch it on repeats, and there are more clips on ifilm. Next time, I’ll try to be more open-minded!
