Fun Friday: 8 Things
This is my second meme tagging, but I’m going to tackle it first because it’s easier. A meme (a term I still don’t understand) seems to be kind of like a chain letter but instead of passing on worthless information, the hope is that you’ve added something of value to a continuing thread, or blog wave if you will. My Twitter buddy Film Snob tagged me with 8 Things so here goes…
Rules:
1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged write their own blog post about their eight things and include these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and that they should read your blog.
8 Things about Agnes (that are non-film related…)
1. I’m a PADI-certified Divemaster – if I could spend all day, every day underwater, that is probably what I would do, with breaks for margaritas on the beach and sunsets.
2. I have a 10-year-old black cocker spaniel named Jasmine. She thinks that she is a person and takes offense when confronted by other dogs who mistake her for a dog.
3. Scotland is one of my favorite places—from whiskey and castles, to post-war grime of Glasgow to nook-and-cranny pubs and accents so thick they no longer sound like they are speaking English. I long to go back.
4. When I lived in DC, my apartment was across the street from the National Cathedral. At night, I used to walk Jasmine on the grounds. It was so peaceful and spacious. Even on the most humid or cold nights, there was something calming about walking there. However, on Sundays, they have the most gawd-awful bell songs that seem to go on for hours, which was truly irritating.
5. Pet peeves are war, people who don’t read, late trains, poverty and soda.
6. I love Guinness—it is simple pleasure in a glass.
7. I want to take a trip on the Orient Express.
8. True North eludes me.
Since a meme seems to be an exercise among bloggers, I will tag the following, should they wish to participate:
DIY Filmmaker Sujewa
Still in Motion’s Pamela
Francis at Caught in the Stream (who granted me the Thinking Blogger meme, which I will tackle next)
Mike at BadLit
Danielle at IndpiePix.net
Poverty Jet Set’s Mark
Ajit of Ticklebooth and Squigglebooth
Holly of Albatross Soup (she hasn’t posted in a while!)

My wonderful blog friend Danielle (aka Jamanista - see below) tagged herself and shares her 8 Things - I love a woman who goes out and takes what she wants - WooHoo!
And while you are at it, help her win an iPhone by signing up for Jaman. It is a movie download site for world cinema. I enjoyed some free downloads during the Tribeca Film Fest and definitely recommend becoming a member. That part is free:-)
From Danielle: If I get more people joining Jaman through my link than anyone else, I’ll get an iPhone. PLEASE, I’m begging you, sign up for Jaman!
FAQ about Jaman:
Q: What is this that I’m signing up for?
A: It’s the best film download site. Seriously. You can download high-def foreign and independent films to your computer and then connect your computer to your TV and PRESTO. Movie night. If you’ve seen my Cult movie podcast (http://www.scifisoftcore.com), you’ve seen some of the movies we have on the site… though the cult films aren’t necessarily representative of the huge breadth of content.

Hi Agnes,
Great pic of Jasmine, and very nice facts. I too am a big fan of enjoying a well poured Guiness with friends. My 8 facts are finally up on my blog. Thanks for the meme tag.
