Films I can’t write about
In case you are wondering where I have been, I am once again screening for the Newport International Film Fest and am trapped under a pile of screeners that I can’t write about. Ugh. When I see good stuff, I like to share it, but alas, my dear readers, it isn’t really kosher for programmers to talk about the films that are submitted outside the group. There is a sneak preview fundraiser for the fest up in Newport for anyone so inclined coming up on April 20. Oh, and in case you were wondering, David Nugent was indeed the model for the surfer on the film surf board.
I’ve been thinking about programming in general and there are a couple of sites I thought I might point out for those who are interested in that part of the film world. Realscreen launched a cool pre-MIP site to help buyers navigate to some of the best content there. It’s a sneak preview for them, but just a neat glimpse into what is coming down the pike for the rest of us.
I totally forgot to blog about this back in November but the American Film Market has up a lot of info about their projects, including trailers. Another neat spot to find out more about what may be coming to some screen near you within the next year or so.
