P.O.V. 2007

I’m super-late on this, but some of the films for P.O.V. 2007 have been announced with trailers while you are waiting for the summer documentary series on public TV to roll around. I couldn’t be happier to see that Made in LA by my good friends Almudena Carracedo and Robert Bahar has been selected; Arctic Son by Andrew Walton, which I’ve been cheering on since at least HotDocs of last year; also wonderful is The Chances of the World Changing by Eric Daniel Metzgar and Nell Carden Grey.

And since I’m working for the distributor of the film so you can take this with a grain of salt, but I just watched The Camden 28 and was blown away. It has the power of Sam Green’s The Weather Underground and is in a similar vein. You won’t be disappointed.

Certainly 49 UP and Libby, Montana have proven compelling on the fest circuit. I’ve heard from some other filmmakers that they are going to be in the series, but they aren’t up yet so I won’t out them, but suffice it to say, bookmark the site, get their emails and be ready to set the TiVo if you will be on Tuesday nights at 10 PM (or whenever your local PBS broadcasts the series).
