Jesus Camp on DVD
Jesus Camp is releasing on DVD today - run, don’t walk, to catch it if you haven’t already. I saw part of the film at Newport in June but finally got a chance to see it in its entirety at a special A&E Indie Films screening the other night.
It’s harrowing. Truly. Fundamentalism in all its forms is just plain scary. I don’t understand how anyone can or would want to live within such narrow constraints. The film makes it easy to reserve judgement and hope for dialogue with our fellow human beings, but the sad part is that fundamentalists don’t want to understand me, they only want me to think they way they do. Crazy shit.
