…Sundance 07 is being ably covered, discussed, dissected elsewhere, but I wanted to draw your attention to a cool experiment by my digital buddy Lance Weiler. Think back to any fest you’ve ever been to - you want to find people fast, get them to meet you where you are or make plans to meet up later; sometimes you walk out of an amazing film or a total bomb and you want to shout it out to all your peeps. And all the while, you may be thinking that it would be very cool if the whole world could participate in such a great experience.

Lance’s description of Fest Mob: “Using mobile phones fest goers document their fest experience by texting, photographing and recording vid with their cell phones. Then all the info is uploaded to the fest mob to create a real-time document of the festival.”

It’s all happening very quickly and I’ve been to tied up to participate this time around, but I’m hoping they work out the kinks and I can give it a shot from SXSW!
