A holiday email reminded me of a friend doing a semi-regular podcast program you might be interested in checking out – Christina Kotlar is an independent producer and former managing editor of the Film Festival Reporter. Film Festival ReViews focuses on whats new and notable on the film fest circuit. She has 22 episodes since beginning with last year’s Tribeca Film Festival. Over 2006 she has traveled to industry standards like Toronto, New York Film Festival and Silverdocs, to regional fare like Woodstock, High Plains and New Orleans.

I started with Episode 17 Animation High with Bill Plympton. Christina has a rather liquid voice and a kind of over-produced writing style for the introduction and interstitial material which worried me at first, but her interview with Plympton was truly enlightening. She asked the right questions and he made the most of her conversational style. I believe you can subscribe to the podcast to be alerted to new episodes when they are available.
