If you are a newbie documentary director and getting ready to premiere sometime next year, the IFP Rough Cut Lab is designed to help you polish your work and get prepped for the big launch of your project. It’s kind of a mentor program in that it is led, this time around by Katy Chevigny and the Big Mouth Productions team. Go to the site to read up. I wanted to be sure to mention it since most of the energies around here are focused on Market. The submission deadline is Sept. 25 and the Lab is in mid-November.

Full disclosure: I’m working for the IFP Market, but I have no stake in the Rough Cut Lab other than I think it’s a cool program.
