For those who don’t have time to scour the net in search of articles, here’s a little round-up of some recent posts on DIY you might find helpful, interesting, etc.

Via indieWIRE, an article about Four Eyed Monsters and Lance Weiler’s Head Trauma - both films have extensive DIY strategies in play, which are described in detail, then head for the comments where the filmmakers have added some interesting tidbits.

One year after implementing an ambitious plan to attract distributor interest in their first feature film, “Four Eyed Monsters,” filmmakers Susan Buice and Arin Crumley are putting the final touches on a DIY (Do It Yourself) release for the film that will kick-off early next month. And finally, I’ve done a lot of jabbing about video uploads, and several of my 0posts have been sparked by Docu-Blog Steve’s posts. He posted another business article that refutes some of my thinking on the monetary potential of video uploading (a staple for the DIYer in my humble opinion).

Context and authorship matter too - or maybe matter MORE - than the professionalism of the sound track or the crispness of the picture. This is deeply concerning, since it reflects a significant shift in media consumption patterns away from commercial content and toward community content. Read the whole post…
