Mutual Appreciation - 2006 GemsindieWIRE has teamed up with Emerging Pictures and The New York Times to present a new contest of sorts. Each year indieWIRE posts a lists of great films that don’t yet have distribution. The spin this year is that they present the films at screenings, audiences vote, and the most loved film gets a deal through Emerging Pictures. Seems like even if they don’t win, the participating films still make out on this deal.

August’s gem is Mutual Appreciation by Andrew Bujalski (Funny Ha Ha). Others include Jem Cohen’s Chair, The Puffy Chair by Jay and Mark Duplass, Four Eyed Monsters and Red Doors, Tribeca’s Best Picture.

There are venues all around the US - NY is Cinema Village.
